Showcase Sunday #11

Showcase Sunday is hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea and is a chance for everyone to show off what they've acquired during the week.

Getting back on track now! Some exciting tours, blitzes and reviews are coming up this week, and give-aways... Woo! Not many purchases or books through the door, but plenty to keep me happy - especially as I got Vampire Academy e-books.

THE HAUL

So, not much as I said, but plenty to keep me happy. The Swimmer by Joakim Zander came through the door courtesy of Head Zeus and it definitely looks interesting. I bought Hexed by Michelle Krys at Asda yesterday for a little bit of light reading - it was an impulse buy and I honestly haven't even looked at the back yet. But now I've had the time to scan some reviews, I'm kinda regretting it!

Yesterday I went to the Magical Worlds exhibition at The Great North Museum with my mum and sisters and we had a lot of fun dressing up and messing around. From fairy tale princesses, to witches, to woodland pixies, we dressed up whenever possible and got loads of picture. Even the museum staff nabbed a picture of us to show that it's  not only the kiddies that enjoy interactive exhibitions.

  1. The Swimmer had me sold on the word Brussels, always great when a book has a connection with your country :D And I hate it when I thought I bought a great book but it turned out to be a wast of money :( But maybe you still enjoy Hexed :D Happy reading!
    Thanks for stopping by earlier!

  3. Ooooooh! You've picked up Hexed! I haven't tried reading any fairytale retelling yet. The closest I got was Orson Scott Card's Enchantment (which I really loved!!)

    1. I've read a few retellings over the years - my favourite was a retelling of Puss in Boots but I can't remember the title as I read it 10 years ago. It'll be the second one I've read this year.

Glad you had fun at the museum and you probably made that staff member's day.

    Have a great week.
