Books That I’d Like In My Personal Library

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and is a chance for everyone to get to know fellow bloggers and share lists. I love lists. Every week is a different list.

Books I’ve Read That I’d Like In My Personal Library
So I uhm... Basically have a personal library already. I have three floor to ceiling shelves double stacked, a couple half height shelves double stacked, and many many piles of books. So to shake this up a little, I thought I'd look at the utterly gorgeous Penguin Clothbound Classics that I'd love to have in my own collection. They're so bloomin pretty, and I already have one (A Christmas Carol and Other Christmas Writings) and it's so well made and a bit of an experience to read.

Here are Penguin Clothbound Classics that I'd like in my personal library:
  1. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
  2. The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle
  3. Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson
  4. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
  5. The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer
  6. Dracula by Bram Stoker
  7. The Sonnets and a Lover's Complaint by William Shakespeare
  8. Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
  9. Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
  10. Villette by Charlotte Brontë

What books would you have in your personal library?

  1. I'm a sucker for special editions of the classics. I love the Penguin Leather-bound Collection but there's also a new range of winter-inspired classic hardbacks being released this year that I've already added to my wishlist!

  3. Jane Eyre is my favourite classic. I already have a lovely hardback which was one of the first gifts Husband gave me, but I'd love this edition

  5. I always think that classics are the one book I'd never own, because unlike many titles the library will always have them...but then I remember the handful that I want within arm's length at all times (which include Jane Eyre, most of Austen, Frankenstein and Wuthering Heights), so I get it. And it's cool that the dozens of editions to choose from means you can really personalize your version. Those look gorgeous.

    1. Knowing my luck, every time I'd go to get them out of the library they'd already be out on loan haha. I love that you can pick up classics pretty cheap nowadays, and even these gorgeous special editions are cheaper than most new hardbacks.

  7. I'd definitely love to have Dracula and Frankenstein in my personal collection, but I think my e-reader default has them so that's something at least!
