Top Ten Series I Want To Start

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and is a chance for everyone to get to know fellow bloggers and share lists. I love lists. Every week is a different list.

This week is Top Ten New Series I Want To Start .

So, it was supposed to be new series that I wanted to start... But there are so many series in general and I'm not really up to date with new series, so this is just a general list with some oldies that I've been meaning to read forever. As always, these are in no particular order!
  • Game of Thrones
  • Outlander
  • Sabriel
  • Boodlines
  • Vampire Diaries
  • Cormoran Strike
  • Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children
  • The Lunar Chronicles
  • Daughter of Smoke & Bone
  • On Dublin Street
What about you? Got a series sitting on your shelf just waiting to be read? I have a lot of the first books in these series but I haven't even started. And I'm ashamed to say that there's some of them I've had for years. Years. They've just sat there and been passed up but another book.

If you've read any on my list please link to your review. Maybe you'll tempt me to finally get started. Or not.

  1. I really need to begin Cormoran Strike! I've read/ started all of these except for Sabriel (on my list, too), Bloodlines, and On Dublin Street. :) Great list!

  2. I need to get back into the Outlander series. I love it, they're just such page commitments!

  3. Bloodlines.Bloodlines. Bloodlines. You must read it! Okay. First, awesome list.

I extremely recommend Bloodlines. Sydney, the main character seems to have much more depth than Rose. I can link you to my review of the Golden Lily, the second book in the series. I liked it because of the character development, and the second one is where there's more of that. :3

Now, Daughter of Smoke & Bone. :3 :3 :3 It's a dark fairytale totally worth it. Karou isn't whiny and Akiva is hot and a tortured dark soul. (A true one who has more than one reason to be so) I loved this one because of its originality, and the romance between the two. Fell in love with it.

Wow. Long comment. Lol. Hope you do try them out!

  4. Daughter of Smoke and Bone and The Lunar Chronicles. When there was a TTT about characters we'd want on a deserted island with us (I think that was the one), I saw two of the characters - Zusana and Mik - on so many lists. It's angels and demons and action/adventure and romance and a little humor. Just amazing. And the Lunar Chronicles? Well, if you're a fan of retellings, Meyer does an amazing job weaving a bunch of stories together in a new and interesting way. Happy reading, mate.

  5. I read the first book of the Smoke and Bone series, but that's it. I do have a few of these in the hope of starting this series. I've head wonderful things about most of them, especially Lunar Chronicles and Outlander. Thanks for stopping by!

  6. I really need to get started on the Lunar Chronicles as well! Great list and thanks for stopping by my post earlier!

  7. I want to read Game of Thrones. I've started Lunar Chronicles & Daughter of Smoke and Bone so I need to finish them but love them both so far!
Here's mine in case you want to see mine:

  8. Thanks for stopping my by TTT earlier! YES start Game of Thrones. :) And Bloodlines, and The Lunar Chronicles, and Daughter of Smoke and Bone! Loved all of those! Game of Thrones is long and can be slowish, but it has so many epic moments and some of the best characters. Bloodlines took longer to build as a series than Vampire Academy did, but I've loved the last three books published in the series and can't wait to see how it all ends. The Lunar Chronicles gets better with every book I believe which is saying a lot since Cinder was so good by itself. Can't wait to see how that one ends too. And then Daughter of Smoke and Bone is just really good all around. Love Zuzana. Hope you get to start some of these soon!

  9. Thanks for stopping by my TTT! I've read both Miss Peregrine's and Daughter of Smoke and Bone, and I highly recommend both. Such unique books, and fantastically written. Do you know about the bonus in the Miss Peregrine books? Photos! Real, old, sorta-weird photos! Happy reading!

  10. Haha, I know what you mean. I totally would have added in some old series, except that my list was already filled up with all the new ones. So many books but so little timeee!

    1. Game of Thrones: YES. I've been dying to start this one too! The size of the books scare me, though. :P It's not that I don't like thick books, I'm just really afraid they'll be boring -- and slow-moving stories are the one thing I can't take. Still, I guess GoT has such a huge fanbase for a reason.

    5. Vampire Diaries: To be honest, I'm not that interested in reading TVD anymore for some reason. It does look really interesting, and the TV show is such a huge hit, but I feel like reading Vampire Academy would be a lot more enjoyable, lol. (I make no sense, I know.)

    7. Miss Peregrine's: Ooh, I love the covers for the books in this series! They're just so vintage and creepy -- totally my style. ;D And then there's the fact that the books have photographs in them, which is always a plus, in my opinion. So yup, definitely hoping to give this series a try one day!

    8. The Lunar Chronicles: DUDE. You haven't read The Lunar Chronicles? Okay, I've only read Cinder, the first book, but it was FANTASTIC. Even though it's supposed to be a retelling of Cinderella, there's pretty much nothing the two stories have in common, except for the name. It's just that good. And apparently Scarlet is much better, so I can't wait to read that. Anyways. You should drop everything and go read Cinder already! ;)

    9. Daughter of Smoke & Bone: Another amazing series. Again, I've only read the first book, but it's so clear from the beginning how unique and original the story is. Also, the protagonist has blue hair. What's not to love about that?! If you're looking for a good fantasy series, this one is one of them.

You have some great books on your list, Cora! Hopefully you get to read them soon, and hopefully they'll meet your expectations! :D
