For Book Beginnings, Rose City Reader invites us to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires.
I'm currently reading The Secret Fire by CJ Daugherty and Carina Rosenfeld.
"Jump!"The voice was as cool as the night.
I was offered the chance to review this book and I jumped at it. It sounds very interesting and quite different and though I'm usually not a fan of super-powers I'm quite enjoying this so far. I'm still near the beginning but I don't think it's going to take me long to read it despite the length
I haven't heard of this one. Glad you're enjoying it!

This might fall into the category of "don't listen to all those voices. If your friends said let's go jump off a bridge, would you do it?" Don't JUMP.

Sounds frightening...and yes, the kind you can't put down until it is finished. Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteThis one is new to be but that's quite a beginning! Hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI'm generally not a fan of super powers either, so I probably wouldn't pick up this book. Glad you're enjoying it, however. The opening definitely grabs you!
ReplyDeleteMy Friday post features The Reluctant Midwife.
I don't know if I would actually jump. I have to agree with others I am not one for super powers but this one seems like I could put that aside.
