Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and is a chance for everyone to get to know fellow bloggers and share lists. I love lists. Every week is a different list.
This week is Top Ten Older Books I Love.
All of these books have been out for at least ten years. I'm apologising now if any of these are out of print, I just love them so much I couldn't help but share.
- I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith
- Pirates! by Celia Rees
- Lucas by Kevin Brooks
- Junk by Melvin Burgess
- Shadows and Strongholds by Elizabeth Chadwick
- Ballet Shoes by Noel Streatfeild
- Cross Stitch by Diana Gabaldon
- Run For Home by Sheila Quigley
- Knots and Crosses by Ian Rankin
- Transplant by Malcolm Rose
What's your favourite older book?
I've had Junk on my TBR and have considered getting a copy a few times but I never had. Hopefully I'll read it someday :)
ReplyDeleteLouise - Exploring by Starlight
It's so good! Definitely worth it :)
DeleteBallet Shoes is one of my favourites!

I read it at least once a year ❤
DeleteI love Ballet Shoes! I especially love the vow the girls make to each other. My post for today is Old School Kidlit Favorites Through the Decades.
ReplyDeleteI adore Elizabeth Chadwick's historical fiction! Got hoked with The Greatest Knight.
ReplyDeleteProbably my favorite older book is The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It's one of the very few books I'll go back and re-read just because.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
I loved Ballet Shoes when I read it a few years ago! I really fancy Junk too x
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I need to check these books out!

"Shadows and Strongholds" is definitely one of my favourite old books. I could not put it down when I read it almost seven years ago.
ReplyDeleteHappy readings!

I have read none of these though I Capture the Castle is high on my wishlist. I've read a few books by Ian Rankin but have missed Knots and Crosses. Great List!
ReplyDeleteI love this list, in particular the top 5! Lucas </3
