I am currently reading The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli.
This is hailed as a crossover fantasy, bridging between Young Adult and Adult fantasy, and add dragons to that I am sold. From the off I am in love with the writing style.
Asha lured the dragon with a story.
It was an ancient story, older than the mountains at her back, and Asha had to dredge it up from where it lay deep and dormant inside her.Firstly, the cover is beautiful. It has the most gorgeous gold foil, I can't stop staring at the details on the blade, and I am in love with the font for the title, so my very first impressions are good. Very good. I love pretty books.

Asha followed the smoke and ash. The deeper into this cavern she went, the more familiar her surroundings became. It wasn't that she'd been here before. It was more like she'd been dreaming of this place all her lifeYep, I still love the writing style! This isn't what I had expected, but it is excellent. I can't wait to share my review with you next week!
What are you reading this weekend?
Hi Cora!
ReplyDeleteOh, the cover for this, does sound gorgeous. It sounds just like something I'd want to read, but also, something I might just buy purely based on the sparkly foil cover! LOL Fickle I know...
Here's my choice for this week http://bit.ly/2y00q06
Close to Home, by Cara Hunter.
Have a great weekend!
This is a fab idea! I initially was really into the book I'm currently reading from the first lines / paragraph and pages but unfortunately it's all gone a bit south since then!

Great snippets! Now I'm curious. Enjoy, and here's mine: “EXPOSED”
ReplyDeleteI just bought a copy of this one. It does sound amazing. I am featuring Death Overdue by Allison Brook this week. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThis one sounds great. Also, the cover is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI must be like a dragon because I can be lured by a great story, too.
ReplyDeleteYou had me at 'lured the dragon'. :-) Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion this is a really great first line. I'm reading 'And the mountains echoed' by Khaled Hosseini now and he almost lost me on the first sentence because it was so nothing...
