I love to reread books. It's like coming home, putting on your comfiest pyjamas, getting between fresh sheets. You know what you're getting, that it's going to be good, and I find that even after 20 rereads I still get something new from the book.
I recently talked about the books I reread the most, but a big part of my rereading is also seasonal. There are some books I savour each Autumn, that I hold off on reading until it's just the right time.
My Five Autumn Rereads
- Frozen Charlotte by Alex Bell
- The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
- Shadows and Strongholds by Elizabeth Chadwick
- Run For Home by Sheila Quigley
- The Magicians' Guild by Trudi Canavan
What type of books do you like to read in Autumn?
I’ve heard a lot about the secret garden but haven’t got round to reading it yet, will be picking it up next time! X
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of any of those books before. I hope you have lots of fun re-reading then :)
ReplyDeleteI love the way you described rereading a book like wearing the comfiest pyjamas and getting between fresh sheets. That’s the perfect description and so true! I hope you enjoy your Autumn reads, Cora <3 xx

It's one of the things I'm most excited for!
DeleteI love getting in to some wintery romances which you tend to get lots of arcs for in Autumn 🍁 but I love The Secret Garden, and cosy children books like The Velveteen Rabbit we read together a lot
ReplyDeleteI tend to read a lot of cosy kids books as Christmas approaches, one of my favourite ever is Ballet Shoes.
DeleteThank you for the recomodation. Will check them out.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE The Secret Garden .
ReplyDeleteThis is so me! I also associate certain books and TV shows with different seasons. Hehe love autumn and love your post.
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteI love that so many TV shows start back up in Autumn!
Love your description of re-reading - makes me want to get cosy and re-read something now! I need to find a way to fit in re-reading books, there always seems to be so many new books to read that old ones don't get a look on! Think Secret Garden is a great choice for Autumn. Northern Lights would top my re-read pile at any time, but think it would make a great Autumn read, and Harry Potter too.
ReplyDeleteI always make time for rereading - it's like an extra form of self care and I still get something new from the books each time :)
DeleteI don't reread a lot, but glad other people do! I'm pretty sure I read the Secret Garden when I was a kid, but I'm honestly not really sure!
ReplyDeleteI read it first as a kid but I think I get more from it as an adult!
DeleteI really want to read Magician's Guild - it's on my TBR and I'm ready to read this & Priestess of the White. But the fact you are planning to reread Magician's Guild make me think I should read this sooner rather than later...
ReplyDeleteAww what a fun list!!
ReplyDeleteI love rereading books and I need to check out your autumn reads because I don't know a single book, oops!😅
ReplyDeleteXoxo
