Five Favourite Quotes: The Orchard Girls by Nikola Scott *AD gifted

I was provided with a free ebook of The Orchard Girls by Nikola Scott ahead of the blog tour.

My favourite WW2 stories are those about Land Girls, so The Orchard Girls immediately piqued my interest. I thought I knew what I was in for, but the split-time narrative was amazingly well done and my expectations were more than met.

Two months after my review of The Orchard Girls by Nikola Scott, I am back to share my five favourite quotes from the book.

Today I'm sharing my five favourite quotes from this absolutely amazing book.

Cloud-like, blooming upwards and oscillating, the orange glow roiled against changing hues and levels of brightness.
"Fire," she said involuntarily.

As if conjured up by dawn itself, as if it had always been there and would outlive mankind altogether, Winterbourne House rose from the trees and parkland surrounding it.

But somehow here, inside this warm, hay-scented cocoon, she suddenly found that she was empty of the energy to hate herself, and when she closed her eyes, it was still there: Romy's face above the foal's back, the delighted giggling in the church, her warm fingers settling the necklace against Violet's skin at the Wentworth.

What was so terrible about hanging on to a little bit of hope?

There were any number of things Frankie could have said, any number of things she could have told herself, too: that there was still hope, that it might be ages, that they would make the most of it.

Hopefully these quotes will convince you to read The Orchard Girls by Nikola Scott, but if you need another push then check out my review.
