Series Crackdown: Festive Edition Readathon Prompts

I love taking part in Series Crackdown and I am yet again super excited! The Festive Edition runs from Friday 17th of December to Monday 27th December. I'll be working five of those days but hope it will be quiet enough for a sneaky audiobook in the background.

Series Crackdown: Festive Edition Readathon Prompts

The Prompts

I'm working over Christmas, so I don't know how much reading I'll get done. I have a few ideas for books for my TBR that can fit a few of the prompts at once so I can tick off multiple squares with each book just in case.
  • Red Cover
  • Set in Winter/Christmas
  • Read by the Fire
  • Foil on the Cover
  • Magic
  • Given/Received as a Gift
  • Includes a Celebration
  • Want to Finish Before 2022

These are all books that were already on my extended TBR, so this is the perfect excuse to squeeze them in. Also, three of them coincidentally have red on the cover in some way, and I can switch the telly over to the Birchwood fire on Netflix while I read.
  • Hero in the Highlands by Suzanne Enoch
  • Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao
  • Stay Another Day by Juno Dawson
  • These Hollow Vows by Lexi Ryan

I am excited for all four of these books to be honest! None of them are mid-series, and one of them is a standalone, but hey ho. This festive edition of Series Crackdown is all about some end of year cramming for me.

Hero in the Highlands by Suzanne Enoch was very kindly gifted to me by an internet stranger, and the cover is a gorgeous red clinch. I'm an absolute sucker for a highland romance, and this is a Suzanne Enoch book that I haven't read yet.

Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao sounds absolutely incredible. The dustcover is fiery reds and oranges, the naked hardback is foiled, and it promises magic galore. I also have it on audiobook, so it will keep me company while I'm doing chores and between calls at work.

Stay Another Day by Juno Dawson is probably the book I am most excited about because it's freaking Juno Dawson, and it's Christmassy. I definitely want to finish it before Christmas, never mind before 2022! It also has some gorgeous purple foil on the cover.

These Hollow Vows by Lexi Ryan is the book that's going to fit the celebration prompt - I asked around and apparently it has a ball and a wedding! The naked hardcover is also foiled, and it features magic.

The Photo Challenge

I can't remember when I last posted on Instagram, but I'm going to use this challenge to post every day and get back into the swing of things for the new year.

Will you be taking part in Series Crackdown?
What are your festive reading plans?

  1. I must admit that I have never taken part in a read at hon, so need to add it to the list of must try for next year! I have Iron Widow on my shelves too and can’t wait to dive in! Thanks for sharing x

  2. Hope you were able to cover your list. Wishing you a happy 2022!

  3. I use to read a lot all year round, but unfortunately, not these days, due familiar compromises. I'm your new follower. May you follow me back? Thanks and have a Happy New Year!
